Social Entrepreneur and Independent Consultant


Thinley Choden
is a social entrepreneur, working on several different projects. In addition to managing a boutique impact travel company, she free-lances as an independent consultant in various fields, a film producer, and a strong advocate for social enterprise and entrepreneurship. She is also the Bhutan Advisor for Give2Asia, a grant making organization based out of San Francisco. Most recently, she is in the initial stages establishing an Accelerator and Impact fund to support and grow the eco-system.

In 2017, she was an Acumen Global Fellow and worked with an Acumen investee – an energy start-up – in Bangalore India. Prior to that, Ms. Choden founded READ Bhutan, a non-profit, in 2008, which she grew/managed till 2014. Thinley started her career with WFP in Bhutan and New York.

Ms. Choden was a Draper Hills Fellow at Stanford University, holds an Executive Certificate in Strategic Decision Making from Wharton Business School, a MPA and a certificate on Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance from University of Hawaii, Manoa as an East-West Center degree fellow, and a post-graduate certificate in Asia Pacific Leadership Program from East-West Center in Hawaii. She has a BA Economics from Beloit College, Wisconsin.

Ms. Choden is a Desuup. She completed her Desuung Training as part of the 33rd batch in April 2019.
