SME Finance Policy Manager, AFI

Kamarun is a SME Finance Policy Manager at Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), the world leading organization on financial inclusion policy and regulation which is responsible for financial inclusion and SME finance policy activities that serves 101 member institutions across 89 countries. He also sits as one of the technical members for Islamic Finance Services Board (IFSB) that is responsible for providing Technical Note on Financial Inclusion and Islamic Finance.

Previously, he held the office of Deputy Director for International Cooperation Division at SME Corp. Malaysia and gained his demand-side experience working on SME policy, specifically financing the MSME and the underserved market in Malaysia. He represents as one of the panelists for the ASEAN SME Financing Fintech. Earlier, he worked as an accountant for seven years in a regional developmental agency. He gained Islamic finance experience when he was with Kuwait Finance House (KFH) Research Ltd. as an analyst.

He reads Islamic finance and graduated with Masters in Islamic finance from the Global University of Islamic Finance (INCEIF) and completed his first degree in accountancy at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN).
