Chief Economist, South Asia Region, The World Bank
Hans Timmer is the Chief Economist of the South Asia region, The World Bank since January 1, 2019. Prior to his current position, he was the Chief Economist of the Europe and Central Asia region, The World Bank.
He also served in various capacities in the World Bank, to name a few, he was the Director of the Development Economist and Chief Economist, Manager of the Development Prospects Group and Lead Economist in the Development Prospects group.
He has a Doctorate in Econometrics from the Erasmus University, Rotterdam.
